Travel: Den Bosch at Night

Traditional Den Bosch with its cobbled streets, cute boutiques and Dutch heritage is a heart-warming place to visit. Though, you could be forgiven for thinking it’s a sleepy town come nightfall...

But, let me tell you, Den Bosch really comes alive at night!

Our press trip group: around twenty journalists and bloggers from around the world, were tasting various culinary delights on a “walking dinner.”

Korte Putstraat is a street filled with some of the city’s best restaurants and on this occasion, we would be sampling not one but three of these restaurants!

Lux

First up was Lux, a French restaurant with a global twist!

If you’re dining at Lux be sure to head upstairs to check out their fancy Instagram-worthy tropical wallpaper!

Our starter of gamba red curry had a mild spice with a slight kick and left me wanting more!

Le Méridien

Fresh seafood is a firm holiday favourite of mine and you can’t get much fresher than live fish in the tanks!

Our main course was fish and chips, but not as we know it back in the U.K….

Our fish medley was served with thick cut chips and Dutch favourite mayonnaise!

Zoetelief

Our foodie evening came to a sweet end with a chocolate fondant served with salted caramel ice cream.

The evening provided a fantastic way for us to socialise as well as check out some local restaurants!

Proost (cheers) as they say in Dutch!

Uylenhof Hotel

After an enjoyable day exploring the city’s boutiques and restaurants, we departed to our respective hotels.

The Uylenhof Hotel is located in the Uilenburg quarter of Den Bosch and is within walking distance of the city’s shops and restaurants.

Not only is the hotel located in the most beautiful setting over an arched canal bridge, but it also has its own on-site hair salon. If only I’d had more time to get my hair curled!

The luxury apartments at the Uylenhof provides visitors with a home-away-from-home, complete with a fully-equipped kitchen and furnished living area.

I loved the cosy way the split-level apartment is furnished, along with the selection of books to read for longer stays.

I was sharing the apartment with fellow British Blogger Ellie and we were both wowed by our duplex apartment, which even had its own skylight.

My only niggle was the lack of full-length mirror - a girl’s gotta check her outfit! ‍

The large bedrooms had dressing gowns and Coco-Mat eye masks made from 100% natural materials to aid a restful night's sleep.

And a restful night’s sleep is certainly what I had at the Uylenhof! Obviously, I had to bring along Dutch favourite Miffy pyjamas!

At breakfast, the team at Uylenhof bring breakfast to your door. We were welcomed with a selection of fresh fruit, pastries and continental breakfast items.

The Uylenhof provides both luxury and homely accommodation, it is the ideal hotel to unwind for few days break in the city.
