Karen Millen: The White Shirt Project

I was invited to my local Karen Millen store at intu Milton Keynes for the launch of their new Capsule Collection. Having attended their previous Valentine's Day and Find Your Star event, as well as the Covent Garden In Focus AW16 bloggers evening, this was clearly not an invitation I was going to turn down.

One thing you can rely on with Karen Millen is their on-point classic, staple workwear items that give you a professional, yet feminine style. The new Capsule Collection is a celebration of this timeless style, with their white shirt collection designed in their own London atelier.

If you're anything like me, a magpie when it comes to brights, bold prints, embellishments and as a result sometimes struggle to put an outfit together, Karen Millen are ideal for injecting classic styling into your wardrobe and their new white shirt collection is far from boring. Think ruffles, pussy-bows, bell sleeves. Karen Millen have reinvented the classic white shirt, so that not only is their white shirt collection on trend, it's also dressy enough to take you seamlessly into evening wear.

Welcomed with prosecco on arrival (I'm starting to get used to this Karen Millen MK), the white shirts were not only visible from the window display, they even had their own section in the store, which is why they were flying off the shelves so quickly. Luckily, I managed to photograph the white ruffle pussy-bow shirt as there were only two hanging when I took my photos.

The event was being held in selected stores nationwide, with Karen Millen offering customers a gift with purchase in their gorgeous shopper bag when they spent £150. Items from Clinique, Rush, Molton Brown and Benefit were all included in the gift bag from the Milton Keynes store.

Store manager, Steph had arranged hair and beauty treatments for customers to enjoy while they shopped. Molton Brown had a pretty display with their new Mother's Day gift boxes, with Shiwen Liu, from Molton Brown relaxing customers with hand massages.

The smells from the products were divine and it was a tough choice to choose the scents for my own hand massage. Indecisive as ever, I chose different scents for each hand so I could compare the two! For arm number one, I chose the Pink Pepperpod Bodywash, followed by the Fiery Pink Pepper Body Polisher, as I am always drawn to warmer scents in colder weather. This nourishing balm contained warm ginger notes, ideal to relax you after a long day.

For arm number two, I chose one of their Mother's Day products, which had a sweet aroma in contrast to the spicy scent. Shiwen Liu applied a Ylang-ylang Body Polisher, which she explained contained cedarwood oils; the perfect body conditioner to calm and soothe for a good night's sleep. I felt ultra relaxed after my massage and was pleased to learn these treatments are available in the Molton Brown store, located in The Centre: MK.

Hair curling was provided by Rush MK, which was as popular as it was for the Find Your Star event.

Beauty was on hand from Suzie & Corey from Clinique at Debenhams. Those of you who regularly read the blog will know I attended a Clinique Blogger Workshop in December *read about it here* and it was great to see both Suzie & Corey again.

As the day drew to a close, Corey even had her natural curls transformed into bouncy waves for the evening by Rush.

Aside from the white shirt project, Karen Millen have a fabulous range of warmer toned colours and prints for their Spring/Summer season, with some items multi-purpose for transitional styling.

MK store manager, Steph, kindly wore the trench jacket below, which can be adapted from an overcoat to a waistcoat to a cropped jacket. Ideal to take you from your Spring to Summer wardrobe. This outfit proved to be popular on my Instagram and I have linked the items beneath the picture.

Karen Millen also have some fabulous items in the sale, with the belted jumpsuit (shown below) still available online.

Thanks to Karen Millen for inviting me to another fantastic event, with special thanks to Molton Brown for this beautiful gift bag - I can't wait to try the products!

Thanks for reading,

Jaz
