Run Your Way Fashion Show MK

On Friday 29th July I attended the Run Your Way Fashion Show MK at Wonderworld, organised by GM Events to showcase a variety of fashion and jewellery brands.

Clothes shopping is arguably every girl's favourite pastime and it is a rarity for a fashion event of this calibre to take place in Milton Keynes, therefore with the promise of champagne, canapés and catwalk fashion, my friend Nikki and I were delighted when we received complimentary tickets.

The doors opened at 6.30pm at Wonderworld and after tucking into the antipasti style canapés, we took our seats. The show catered to an array of styles from the beach chic and casual styles of Xscape’s own brands: Billabong, Oneill, Roxy, Volcom and Ripcurl to glamorous evening-wear from brands such as The Dress Empire, T-Y-T and celebrity-inspired Krisp.

Bedfordshire based Gemma McErlane’s collection embraced many of the styles currently worn by fashion bloggers with silk-chokers, pastel two-piece garments and bead-embellished outfits being one of the most memorable collections of the evening (too busy watching to take any photos) and is sure to have created a buzz for her new and exciting brand.

The vibrant colours and ethnic styling of online fashion brand Mammaw were an eye-catching addition to the fashion show and great inspiration for a brighter as well as summer holiday wardrobe.

The distinctive Jewellery designed by FIYAH and SuperDiva demonstrated how a piece of jewellery can style an outfit, with the classic black clothes worn by the models embellished by the statement jewellery. The bright hues of the the sparkling SuperDiva collection captured the gaze of the audience with the necklaces glittering in the light as the models walked down the catwalk.

An Inspiration Corner showcased designs including James Virgo's unique collection of bow ties as well as the luxury range of cashmere on the Pink Advocet stand, which demonstrated the variety of clothing and accessories at the fashion show.

The fashion show organised by Gemma Burnikell and her company GEMMEDIA Events had West-End dancers modelling the clothes bringing a range of fashion and accessories to Milton Keynes. The event was a huge success with the next Fashion Show already underway for October.

It is great for companies like GEMMEDIA to take the initiative to bring events such as this to Milton Keynes. My friend and I had a great time observing the fashion on and off the catwalk and can't wait to see what's in store for the Fashion Show MK AW16 event.
