Stargazing into the Realms of Fashion & Film

It has been a great week for fashion with the celebrities flocking in all their glory to events including The Met Gala and more recently The 69th Cannes Film Festival Opening Night Gala premiere of Cafe Society.

Blake Lively owned the Cannes red carpet in her Atelier Versace figure-hugging, nude diamanté cut-out floor-length gown with her small baby bump visible. The former Gossip Girl star never gets it wrong with her flawless gowns always complimenting her perfect figure, immaculate make-up and on point hair effortlessly conveying her natural beauty.

Many of the celebrities attending the Cannes Film Festival Opening Night kept their red-carpet look simple and elegant including Eva Longoria, Anna Kendrick and Lily Donaldson, with Victoria Beckham and Susan Sarandon choosing classic tailored looks.

Adding some sparkle to her pale lilac hue, Naomi Watts shimmered down the red carpet with the mirrored embellishments on her floor-length strapless gown catching the reflections of the light as she walked giving her one of the most memorable looks of the evening.

Bella Hadid looked stunning in her Gatsby-esque fitted nude gown with gold lace and silver sequin detail.

Whilst dazzling in their designer gowns, many of the A-list stars kept their hair and make-up simple and sophisticated with subtle contouring, subdued smoky eye-shadow and loose elegant waves or half up-dos and plaits resulting in a soft, feminine spring look.

The elegant fashion looks gracing the annual Riviera film event contrasted those seen at last week’s Met Gala Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology theme, which had an array of innovative designed costumes showcasing the future of fashion including metallic, latex fabrics and flashy L.E.D embedded garments.

Claire Danes was the belle of the ball in her entrancing pale blue glow-in-the-dark fibre optic Zac Posen dress, worthy of a Disney princess and captured the Met Gala theme perfectly. The event, which reportedly costs in excess of $20,000 a ticket, raises funds for the museum’s costume institute.

It wasn’t just the ladies incorporating the theme of the event with the gentlemen in attendance sporting robotic arm sleeves and A.I. suits.

Emma Watson modelled a classic black and white Calvin Klein ensemble with an overskirt made of recycled plastic bottles highlighting how future fashion can be ecologically friendly as well as high-tech and space-age, which the majority of other celebs opted for and it was great to see how those in attendance brought their own degree of individuality to the theme (aided by their costume designers and entourage obviously!)
